The bungalow is located just ½ mile from Crantock Beach, a wide expanse of golden sand stretching between the East and West Pentire headlands. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards throughout the summer and is ideal for surfing, SUP and swimming, with plenty of rock pools and caves to explore. Hire of surf or SUP boards and lessons are also available.
The beach and dunes are bordered by the estuary of the River Gannel, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a haven for birdlife.
A short distance around the headland is a delightful little cove known as Polly Joke; a totally unspoilt beach with only cliffs, ocean and sand to enjoy.
Crantock village has a post office, tea room, gift shop, art gallery and two pubs, both serving good food.
Newquay with its surfing beaches and surf schools is only 3 miles away. Sea fishing trips can be arranged on the quay, and Truro and Padstow with their abundance of quality restaurants, shopping and cinemas are also close by.
Cycling along the picturesque Camel Trail from Padstow to Bodmin is a must, and bike hire is available locally. Watergate Bay, home to Jamie Olivers restaurant, Fifteen Cornwall, is 5 miles away and well worth booking for that special treat. Watergate Bay is also home to the National Kite Surfing Centre for those looking for that adrenaline rush with a difference. Sea fishing, several golf courses, horse riding, family tourist attractions such as Holywell Bay Fun Park and Dairyland Farm World, go karting and many National Trust properties and gardens are all nearby.
